Suffragan Bishop Dr. Eugene T. W. Sanders is the Pastor of Emmanuel Temple Pentecostal Church of the Apostolic Faith, Inc. in Sandusky, Ohio. Suffragan Bishop Dr. Sanders was assigned to the Office of the Presiding Bishop of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, Inc., to serve as Chief Strategist and Advisor for Leadership, Organizational Management, and Educational Initiatives. He serves in the Bishop's Cabinet in the Ohio District Council under the leadership of Bishop James Gaiters, where he serves in the Co Chair of the Department of Leadership and Educational Development. He is a former president of the Northern Ohio District Young People's Union and former president of the Ohio District Council Young People's Union.
Suffragan Bishop Dr. Sanders is among the most distinguished and celebrated school executives in the United States of America. He has received recognition from local, state and national educational organizations that cited him for exemplary leadership and management skills. He is the former Chief Executive Officer and Superintendent of Toledo, Cleveland, and Sandusky City Schools. While serving as the CEO of the Cleveland Schools, he led the urban district in unprecedented school achievement, while leading an organization of over 10,000 employees, 75,000 students and a budget of over $2.5 Billion dollars. He led the transformation work for Sandusky City Schools that led to unprecedented school achievement, a high school graduation rate of 95% and the largest construction plan in the history of the school district. He is the architect and developer of the curriculum for the Doctoral Program in Leadership Studies at Bowling Green State University, where he was a tenured professor, and Chair of the Department of Educational Administration and Supervision. He also served as a Visiting Professor at The University of Hawaii at Maui College. He is the author of a textbook; Urban School Leadership: Issues and Challenges, which was used by over twenty universities as a leadership training manual. He has made over seventy-five professional presentations at research and leadership conferences.
Suffragan Bishop Dr. Sanders is the Chief Executive Officer and President of the Sanders Transformation Group, LLC, a full-service executive consulting firm with offices in Sandusky, Ohio and Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. He specializes in providing consultation services and professional development training to senior leaders in education, industry, and business regarding organizational transformation, strategic goal setting, and improvement in efficiency and developing growth mindset strategies. He also serves as the Executive Director of the Ohio Mid-Sized Schools Leadership Collaborative, Inc. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Firelands Regional Medical Center, the Greater Sandusky Business Partnership, and is a lifetime member of the Sandusky NAACP. He has served on the board for the Boys and Girls Club, United Way, the 5/3 Bank Board, and the Cleveland Museum of Art. In May 2024, Dr. Sanders was officially elected by the Board of Director as the new Executive President of Aenon Bible College.
He is married to First Lady Paulette Sanders, MSW. They have two sons and four grandchildren. His mission is to serve God, his family, his church, and be of service to the Lord.
